Concept of OCI
When you obtain any other Nationality such as a US Citizenship you can no longer keep your Indian Passport and Citizenship. The reason is due to the Indian Constitution does not allow more than one Nationality at a time. However, this does not mean that you can no longer stay in India on any basis other than the tourist visa. Upon accepting any other Nationality Indian Constitution does allow you to obtain OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) which is no less than having Indian passport just the fact that you can no longer vote in Elections and no longer work with or under Government of India. To obtain your OCI there is 2 main procedure that needs to be followed to lawfully cancel your Passport first and then obtain OCI.

Different types of Indian Visa
Indian Tourist Visa
Tourist visa is issued to individuals who would like to visit India for tourism purpose. A tourist visa is granted with purpose of sight seeing, historic site visits, casual visits to friends/relatives etc..
Indian Business Visa
Business Visa is given to the individuals who would like to make a business related trips to India such as making sales or establishing contacts on behalf of a company outside of India. Employment Visa
Employee visa is granted to individuals who is an Employee or paid intern of an Indian Company. Employees are supposed to be skilled and qualified professionals engage or employed by Indian company directly. Employee visa are granted for a year which you can extend up-to 5 years.
Transfer Visa to New Passport
If you have a valid visa in your old Passport that has expired, if your visa is still valid you can travel to India with both passport. However it is recommended to transfer the visa to new passport.
Medical Visa
You can get a Medical visa if you seek medical treatments only in reputed/recognize specialized hospitals. Up-to 2 attendants who are blood relatives are allowed to accompany the applicant under separate Medical Attendant Visa. There are certain ailments which are primary consideration.
Student Visa
Multiple-entry student visa are given to bona fide students to pursue regular studies at recognized institution in India. Their Visa validity is same as their schooling period and can make multiple entry/re-entry in India during the period of study.
